On GIMA 2010

Global Indian Music Awards, inaugurated this year by our music fraternity to encourage and appreciate our music fraternity with the melodious Asha Bhonsle as its brand ambassador. Appreciation for both Film and Non-film music, in the presence of all music givers and lovers, witnessed by all living generations associated with music- Amazing shot.

Inaugurated  by music melody Asha ji's "Sabda Maalik, Rabb Raakha', supported by young talents with same sophistication and smile that Asha ji reflects while her performance. Performing on stage with a legend herself........ Wow! Followed by many performances and Awards, our eyes got a glance of the Maa Saraswati herself Lata Mangeshkar with her sister Usha ji. Looking at her is something spiritual. She still maintains the same innocent child look that capture everyone's attention. Here i would love to say she is Beauty in Simplicity.

Ofcourse if Lata ji war there, there must be something special. And here it comes. A performance by present Music Composers, would love to mention names- Shankar Mahadeven (Singer), Uttam Singh (on violin), Sulaimaan, Lessil Lewis, Shantanu Moitra (on guitar) and Salim (on synthesizer)- the team did an awesome work by recomposing the famous song of Indian Film Music, "Ek Pyar Ka Nagma Hai". Audience cried...... me too. This performance was followed by Life time Achievement Award to Lata ji, the people who definitely be honoured having presented this Award to her were Asha ji and A.R.Rehman. And then a short, sweet ans simple speech by the Nightingale, just like her.

I would like to mention here about two performances in the function, one was by Saif Ali Khan. This time i liked it because he was on Guitar........ Played by him nicely and decently on a song of his film Love Aj Kal- 'Ye Dooriyan' accompanied by Pritam. And the second one was by Subramanyams- father and son- who won an award for Best Karnatic Music (Non Vocal). What a jugalbandi...... A father must be proud enough to perform with his son, wasn't he?

About the awards ofcourse, two films overtook others- Wake Up Sid (Ikatara) and 3 Idiots.

Well, i have only these remembrances about the Award function. All I can say, i found it much better than other Film and Television Awards, in every aspect.
